For the hundreds of thousands who rely on the PATH rail system every day, a state-of-the-art control center is expected to improve safety and speed.
A top-secret control center is projected to run trains just four minutes apart, compared to the current wait of 10 minutes.
From the new centralized location, 200 video screens and numerous cameras will help improve security. Police will also be stationed there at all times.
The control center is expected to become fully operational in January 2013.
PATH is projected to serve 78 million riders this year and could be up to 80 million annually within the next five to 10 years.
