Tax season is underway – and to help residents navigate the stress that comes with that, the city of Paterson has launched a free tax clinic.
The city is partnering with the IRS and United Way of Passaic County through the end of tax season.
The partnership comes as low- and middle-income residents face new filing challenges after receiving stimulus checks and child tax credits.
“Folks who do not earn a lot of money cannot afford to spend $400, $500 on a paid tax return. They need their credits and refunds to achieve important financial goals,” says Yvonne Zuidema, president of United Way of Passaic County.
The free clinic is open at the United Way of Passaic at the Center City Mall. Appointments can be made HERE.
