Paterson School District cut the ribbon on a third S.W.A.G. room on Friday.
The room – which is open at School No.10 -- stands for “Students With Academic Goals,” and includes video games, arcade games and other gaming equipment. It also includes lounge areas, TVs and computers.
"It will just contribute to the positive reinforcement activities and things we do have going on,” said Principal Lolita Vaughn. “But it's exciting to see nice things happening for them in our community where there is so much hardship."
The district is teaming up with Paterson native Justin Wimberly -- owner of sports media company ZoneSix -- to help fund the project.
The district plan to open its fourth S.W.A.G. room in Paterson public schools in early 2023.
