A Trenton school security guard is behind bars Monday, and parents want to know why they heard of the arrest on the news.
Police arrested 58-year-old Logan Alexander Jr. after a student at Mott Elementary School reported the guard inappropriately touched her in early March. A few weeks after Alexander posted his bail, another student came forward claiming a similar incident happened to her earlier in the year. Police then re-arrested Alexander last week.
Authorities say the two girls accusing Alexander of assault are ages 13 and 10. One student says Alexander restrained her in the teacher?s lounge and touched her legs and breasts. The other student says Alexander kissed her breasts over her clothing and made sexual comments.
Parents say they were upset to hear about Alexander?s arrests on the news and not through the school. Many say they should have heard about Alexander?s first arrest when it happened in early March. The school district says it is mailing a letter to parents Monday to explain what happened.
Meanwhile, Alexander is charged with sexual contact, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on more than $300,000 bail. He is also on administrative leave from his job.
