Among the many guests in the House chambers for the State of the Union address on Thursday were the parents of Edan Alexander, who is one of the American hostages being held in Hamas.

Alexander, who is a Tenafly native, has been held by Hamas since Oct. 7.

"It's very, very tough. Our family is totally broken. We don't have joy anymore in our lives," said Yael Alexander, Edan's mother.

Adi Alexander assured his son in a video message that he will keep fighting for him, telling him to stay positive and that he will be coming home soon.
