Are you driving one of the more than 1.2 million vehicles on New Jersey roads with open recalls?
More than 157,000 New Jersey vehicles have unrepaired, recalled Takata airbags, which can cause serious injury or death if they explode.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Association reports in 2014, they recalled 67 million defective Takata airbag inflators, which can cause serious injury or death if they explode, at no cost to the car owner.
According to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram data in New Jersey, the zip codes with the largest numbers of open airbag recalls also have higher percentages of populations living in poverty compared to the national percentage.
