One suspect is dead and two suspects are in custody after police foiled a North Brunswick armed robbery Wednesday night.
Police officers from the Middlesex County armed robbery task force stopped a robbery in progress at Buy-Rite Liquors on Route 27. An employee of the store says a gunman demanded money and held a gun to his chest. He says when police stormed in, the gunman didn?t drop his weapon and an officer fired a single shot.
The Middlesex County prosecutor says the gunman, Jamar Bradley, 30, of New Brunswick, was hit in the chest and died in the hospital Thursday morning. Bradley?s two alleged accomplices were taken into custody. Investigators believe the three suspects are responsible for more than a dozen holdups in Middlesex County since November.
