The curtain is coming down on several plays that made their mark this past season on Broadway.
Jodie Comer won the Tony award for best leading actress in a play for "Prima Facie." Her Broadway debut in the drama about a defense attorney who is sexually assaulted is scheduled to close on July 2.
"Prima Facie" isn't alone in Tony nominated plays that will shutter on that same day.
"Leopoldstadt" will also be closing July 2. The best new play winner is about a family lost to the Holocaust. It also earned a Tony for featured actor Brandon Uranowitz.
That same day the Pulitzer Prize winning "Fat Ham" will close. The comedic send-up of Hamlet set in a southern family cookout was also nominated for best new play.
The first-ever Broadway revival of "The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window" by iconic playwright Lorraine Hansberry earned a Tony award for featured actress Miriam Silverman. The drama starring Oscar Isaac and Rachel Brosnahan is set amid the social activism of 1960s Greenwich Village. It ends its limited run July 2.
This Sunday is the last chance to see "Summer, 1976" starring Laura Linney and Jessica Hecht. Hecht received a Best Lead actress Tony nomination for this two-actor play about a brief but pivotal friendship between two women who reunite some 25 years later.
