The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says that a wildfire in Washington Township, Burlington County is now 95% contained.
The fire impacted more than 250 acres of land off Route 542 near River Road and Old Church Road.
“During today’s operation period, firefighters successfully reinforced containment lines despite red flag fire weather conditions,” officials wrote on Twitter. “Forest Fire Service staff will remain on scene and continue to monitor control lines and address areas of concern until significant precipitation occurs to ensure public safety.”
Officials said that the fire threatened 30 buildings on Tuesday and that there were voluntary evacuations. No injuries were reported.
Old Church Road and River Road have reopened.
Officials say that smoky conditions will continue in the area for the next few days.
