Officials: Swimmer dies during Ironman U.S. Championship

Officials say an Ironman U.S. Championship athlete has died during the triathlon. News 12 New Jersey was told a 43-year-old man died during the swimming portion of the competition. The 140-mile race

Officials say an Ironman U.S. Championship athlete has died during the triathlon.
News 12 New Jersey was told a 43-year-old man died during the swimming portion of the competition. The 140-mile race started off with a 2.4-mile swim in the Hudson River starting in Fort Lee.
According to race officials, the victim went into distress and was taken to an area hospital where he died.
It is not clear what led to his death.
