A DePaul Catholic High School student suffered a serious laceration on their arm during an altercation at the school.

Officials say the incident happened Wednesday afternoon at the Wayne school. Police say it was after school hours but was on campus.

Police say there was some sort of physical interaction between students and that one student pulled out a knife and cut the other one.

“DePaul Catholic is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities,” a spokesperson for the Diocese of Paterson wrote in a statement.

The names of the students involved were not released due to their age.
