“We understand that saying goodbye to beloved rides can be difficult, and we appreciate our guests' passion. These changes are an important part of our growth and dedication to delivering exceptional new experiences. We look forward to sharing more details next summer,” park president Brian Bacica wrote in a statement when the retirement was announced.

Other attractions that are being retired for the project include Green Lantern, Twister, Parachute Drop and Sky Way.

Six Flags said a boomerang-type ride called The Flash Vertical Velocity will open, followed by what they call a multiworld-record-breaking launch roller coaster in 2026.

A spokesperson for Six Flags says that a media day to showcase The Flash ride is tentatively scheduled for late March.
