A fire destroyed a home on Maple Avenue in West Orange on Wednesday.
Fire officials say that the most severe damage on the one-story home was in the back of the house.
One person was inside at the time of the fire and was alerted to the blaze by someone at the front door, according to officials.
“He heard his doorbell ring. He was able to get himself safely out and no one else was in the house,” said Deputy Fire Chief Steve Ameli.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
