The body found inside a car in a Paterson apartment parking lot has been positively identified as missing mother Shanaya Coley, according to the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office in Newark.
Coley’s body was found inside the back seat of her Nissan Altima Sunday morning, after police received calls from a concerned resident at the complex on Marion Street. The resident told police that the car was left unattended.
Police say that Coley’s body had puncture and incision wounds, and they have ruled her death a homicide.
Coley went missing on Dec. 5, 2017. Witnesses say that they saw Coley get stabbed and carjacked and forced into her vehicle. Coley’s glasses and a puddle of blood were found at the scene.
No arrests have been made.
