Officials say two police officers in Passaic County were injured trying to subdue a prisoner who tried to escape.

Officials say two police officers in Passaic County were injured trying to subdue a prisoner who tried to escape.
The prisoner was at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center.
According to officials, officers were taking off the prisoner’s handcuffs and shackles so he could go to the bathroom when he tried to break out of the room.
Officials say the two officers were able to get the man back into custody. They were treated at the hospital.
Additional charges are pending.
