Two New Jersey schools were put into lockdown on Monday for separate incidents that were both determined to be hoaxes.
Science Park High School in Newark was put into lockdown around 12:30 p.m. after police got a call that there was someone inside the building with a gun. Officers searched the building and found nothing.
Another lockdown was reported at Union High School in Union Township. Officials say they received a report of a suicidal person inside a school bathroom. Police checked and found no one in crisis.
Investigators say it appears to be a swatting prank that has been occurring recently.
Students in both incidents were able to go home without any more incidents.
