The community continues to show its support outside of the 32nd Precinct, where today officers gathered before heading to the funeral of Detective Wilbert Mora, one of the precinct’s own and a victim of the Harlem shooting that took place on Jan. 21.
This marks the second time in seven days that NYPD officers will be paying their respects and saying their goodbyes after celebrating the life of Detective Jason Rivera last week, also a victim of the Harlem shooting.
Since the day they were shot, the community has been coming out to show their support through these memorials placed in front of the precinct.
Above the precinct also lies a black and purple bunting as a reminder of the officers’ lives that have been lost and a reminder of the oath the officers take when they accept a job in the NYPD.
The funeral service began at 10 a.m. where hundreds attended in honor of the Mora.
