(04/10/06) TOMS RIVER ? An Ocean County College professor is criticizing the school?s president after her dismissal as the student newspaper?s advisor.
Karen Bosley says she was let go because the paper printed stories the president didn?t like. According to Bosley, certain members of the administration only want positive stories about the college published. However, school officials say Bosley was released because she was no longer functioning effectively.
Despite her dismissal from one position, Bosley remains a full-time professor at the college. She does plan on going to court if necessary to remain the newspaper advisor. Students who work for the paper say they fear Bosley?s dismissal is the first step in the school?s plan to shut the newspaper down altogether.
