(AP) -- One shore town is responding to reports of aggressive seagulls by vowing to crack down -- on humans.
Ocean City's mayor says enforcement of a law prohibiting the feeding of the birds will be stepped up.
Some visitors and business owners say the gulls are becoming bolder and are a threat to anyone walking down the boardwalk holding a slice of pizza or soft pretzel.
Mayor Jay Gillian wrote on the town's website this month that a 2006 law banning the feeding of wildlife can result in a fine up to $500 and 90 days in jail.
Experts say the gulls are adaptable and will return to places where they've gotten food. They also say the birds aren't interested in attacking people.
