Teens in Nutley should think twice before throwing a booze bash while their parents are away.
A year-old program called Partners for Parents is designed to discourage underage drinking parties. Nutley police say parents who plan to go out of town can call the department to have officers check up on their kids. Police say the program is working because parents give them a heads up on which homes could be a designated party houses.
Many teens aren?t crazy about the program and say their parents should display a sense of trust. Other teens say they may just go to another town to party. Police say they have busted a few parties since the program began.
