Some of the best golfers in the world will return to Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City next month for the Northern Trust.
The tournament is the first round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and shines a spotlight on helping local charities. This year the Northern Trust will donate proceeds to several organizations that work to make a difference in the lives of children, families and communities throughout New Jersey and New York.
These charities include: The Community Food Bank of New Jersey, First Tee Metropolitan New York, and Tackle Kids Cancer.
“We just hope that this opportunity to be here at the Northern Trust and with the PGA will shed a light on our really important cause, which is to help children with cancer find better cures and treatments for their disease,” says Amy Glazer with Tackle Kids Cancer.
“When they are able to see the PGA tour players and in some chances, meet the PGA tour players because of the Northern Trust and the PGA Tour allowing us to do those things, it brings those dreams into a reality for our kids,” says Matt Rawitzer with First Tee Metropolitan New York.
The Northern Trust donated a record $2 million during the 2019 tournament. The tournament returns to Liberty National Aug. 16-22.
