North Wildwood is getting slapped with a fine from the state for doing construction work along the beachfront without approval.
This is just another step in the battle between the beach town and state's Department of Environmental Protection. North Wildwood has been fined $12 million after the town made recent emergency repairs after a storm last October, despite the state warning not to do so.
But North Wildwood is suing the state for $21 million. This is the amount the city claims it has spent on protection from serious storms over the past decade.
