A man from North Bergen was fatally shot early Monday in Union City.

Police responded just after 1:50 a.m. Monday to reports of a fight and shots fired near Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers found David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen, with apparent gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m., authorities said.

The cause and manner of death are under investigation.
