It's a true grassroots movement - an effort to get homeowners to let their lawns grow longer for one month so bees and other pollinators can forage on the flowers.

But Carlstadt Borough officials quickly cut down one resident's attempts to celebrate "No Mow May."

Mariah Olivera says a code enforcement officer knocked on the door of the home she shares with her boyfriend and ordered the couple to cut their shaggy lawn or face a fine for violating town ordinances. The couple complied and quickly got out the lawnmower.
