Many of New Jersey?s top political and business leaders spent Thursday hobnobbing with the state?s congressmen and legislators aboard the Chamber Train to Washington, D.C.
The 70-year tradition allows leaders to conduct business and make important connections. Some of the discussions included property tax relief, Medicaid and the new Giants Stadium construction. While outsiders see the three-hour train ride as a party, political leaders consider it the state?s premiere networking event.
When the train arrived in Washington, D.C., all of the leaders attended a dinner with the state?s Congressional Delegation. There were also small receptions held after dinner, including one to honor Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano.
