As Fourth of July nears, NJ Transit says commuters will see an increased police presence on the transit system statewide.
The company announced no beverages of any kind will be permitted on board trains, buses or the light rail on July 4. They say this policy will be strictly enforced.

Extra buses will operate from Port Authority on Wednesday beginning at noon.
Trains will operate on a holiday schedule. Extra trains to Newark and Hoboken will run out of New York Penn Station from 2 to 4 p.m.
