A person died after being hit by a train Wednesday afternoon in Garfield, according to NJ Transit.

Officials say it happened at the Plauderville Station right after 3 p.m. The Bergen County and Port Jervis line service were disrupted while officials investigated the pedestrian death.

Police have not released the age or identity of the victim.
