(08/28/06) PERTH AMBOY ? Members of the Perth Amboy Gulf Coast Families Relief Committee marked the one-year anniversary of their Hurricane Katrina relief efforts Monday.
The organization provided Katrina victims with a place to stay in the wake of the devastating natural disaster. About 40 displaced families were placed in Perth Amboy?s Delaney Homes. Only two of the 40 original families remain in the Delaney Homes. They too will soon relocate to start new lives.
A representative of the Gulf Coast families says victims who stayed in New Jersey will forever have fond memories of Perth Amboy and its generous residents.
