NJ Homeland Security unveils online portal to combat disinformation

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has unveiled a new online portal to combat disinformation.
The portal comes as the department declares homegrown violent extremists and white supremacists the top security threat to the Garden State in 2022.
"There's a lot of information out there and with that we wanted to have people have a place where they could get accurate information,” says NJ Homeland Security Director Laurie Doran. “There's a lot of things that are out in the press and so we just wanted to make sure that people can go there and see that there are places to vet the information that you're looking at."
The portal also aims to vet news stories and expose deep fake videos. It can be viewed on the department’s website.
