New Jersey is just days away from electing a new governor. Many have already headed to the polls for early voting ahead of Election Day on Nov. 4.
Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli cast his ballot early on Friday at a polling station in Bridgewater. He addressed supporters while he was there.
“Can't thank you enough for all the energy you brought to the campaign. As I always like to say, what do championship teams do?...Let's finish strong. Let's win and change the direction of New Jersey,” Ciattarelli said.
He then joked that if his supporters knew anybody who wasn’t voting for him, to tell them that Election Day is Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Meanwhile, Democratic candidate Rep. Mikie Sherrill was also on the campaign trail, securing last-minute voters. She spoke with CNN recently about her campaign and how the turnout has been.
“I know what New Jerseyans think because I've been talking to thousands of them. Ran in a six-way primary, really successful campaign there,” the congresswoman said. “We had the largest turnout for any primary the state of New Jersey has run. The momentum on the ground for this race is looking really great so far with the vote by mails and the early voting.”
