The nation's oldest and largest flag manufacturer will stop making and selling Confederate flags.
A spokesperson for Roseland-based Annin Flagmakers says the flag is associated with hate groups and that the company will no longer make them.
Last year, only 1,000 out of 10 million flags made by Annin Flagmakers were Confederate flags.
The Confederate flag has been criticized recently in the wake of an apparent racially charged mass shooting at a church in Charleston.
The governors of several Southern states have called for Confederate flags to be removed from the state capitols.
