A fishing study released Friday is drawing a lot of criticism from many of New Jersey?s commercial fishermen. In the Science Journal report, Professor Boris Worm predicted that in about 40 years 90 percent of food caught in the ocean will be gone. Worm, a Canadian professor of conservation biology, spent four years studying the ocean's food chain and the effects of commercial fishing. Many local fishermen have a different take on the report. Jim Lovgren has been fishing off the waters of Point Pleasant for 30 years and says there are plenty of fish in the sea. Lovgren says the report is focusing on countries that do not have fishing regulations. While disagreeing on this issue, both sides agree they want to protect ocean wildlife.
