The former lover of a New Jersey woman accused of dismembering her husband made a startling admission Thursday.
Melanie McGuire is accused of drugging, shooting and sawing her husband apart in 2004. The victim?s body parts were later found in three suitcases floating in the Chesapeake Bay. Dr. Bradley Miller admitted to the jury Wednesday that he had a three-year affair with McGuire. On Thursday, Miller acknowledged that after he sided with police and secretly taped phone conversations with McGuire, he continued his affair with her.
Miller also testified his signature was forged on several Xanax prescriptions for McGuire, as well as a prescription for Hydrate Chloride. Investigators believe McGuire used the Hydrate Chloride, a powerful sedative, to drug her husband before shooting him.
The trial concluded for the week and will resume on March 26. Prosecutors expect the trial to last another three weeks.
