If you've ever tried to cancel a gym membership, you know the feeling of jumping through hoops to do so.

A new bill in New Jersey would put an end to pesky subscriptions — just in time for the new year. State lawmakers are looking to make it easier for consumers to cancel their gym contracts.

The goal of Bill A3892 is to make cancelling gym memberships as easy as signing up. The bill would allow online cancellation of automatic renewal of health club services subscriptions.

The bill now heads to Gov. Phil Murphy’s desk for final approval.
