The New Jersey Attorney General's Office say it is investigating a fatal police-involved shooting in Burlington County.
It happened Saturday in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township. Authorities say a firearm was discovered next to the male victim.
Other details surrounding the shooting were not released.
A 2019 law requires the state's attorney general to investigate all deaths that occur during an encounter with law enforcement. It also requires investigations be presented to a grand jury to determine if there is evidence for an officer or officers to be indicted.
