A night of fun turned into a frightening event at a Clifton social club Tuesday.
Police say 17 men at the Greek American Social Club were bound and robbed at gunpoint by a crew of robbers. The robbers made off with thousands of dollars worth of cash and jewelry. The members at the club say they were just watching a football game and playing cards when the robbers walked in.
According to police, the perpetrators were armed and wore surgical masks and gloves. Police add that the robbers fled in a black SUV. Authorities describe the robbery as well thought out. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clifton Police Department Detective Bureau at (973) 470-5930.
