It will not be pouring all day tomorrow, but we do have some rough weather to get through across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The morning commute will be wet with periods of rain.
Then, a break in the rain arrives mid-morning through early afternoon.
After around 3 p.m., scattered heavy rain and a thunderstorm chance returns with scattered ponding of water possible through the evening rush.
This will be a wind-driven rain with scattered power outages possible all day and night.
The rain will wrap up in the mid-evening hours, but the wind will linger into Halloween on Friday.

THURSDAY: STORM WATCH — Cloudy with periods of rain in the morning, steadiest around 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Most rain in the morning will be light to moderate, but a few downpours cannot be ruled out. The most likely areas for any morning downpours will be Nassau County and western Suffolk County. There will be several hours from around 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. where there is not much rain. It will still be windy during this time with gusts in the afternoon and evening between 20 and 40 mph. A few gusts can be slightly higher. This will lead to scattered power outages and displaced Halloween decorations. Rain also returns during the mid-afternoon and there can be thunderstorms and scattered heavy rain that can slow down travel during the evening rush. The worst of the evening rain will taper off after around 8 p.m. Minor to moderate coastal flooding will be likely during high tide along the south shore, generally between around 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Highs around 63 degrees. Lows near 49 degrees.
FRIDAY: HALLOWEEN — Drying out with only a small chance for an isolated rain shower, mostly early in the morning. It will stay windy though with gusts between 20 and 45 mph. This can be problematic for trick-or-treating. Some tree branches may continue to fall. Please stay alert. Mostly cloudy to start with some breaks in the clouds developing in the afternoon.
