It was career day at Cedar Creek Elementary School in Lanoka Harbor on Friday and News 12’s Jim Murdoch was invited.

Murdoch spoke to third, fourth and fifth graders about working at News 12 for the last decade. He says the kids especially loved hearing about his severe weather coverage and how now two days are ever the same covering the Garden State.

“I think it's interesting because you get to go to all different places and you get to capture it on video,” said fourth-grader Bailey Ewart.

“I think it's cool because you get to like travel places and just get going to different natural disasters,” said fourth-grader Ernie Ottoson.

Other speakers at the event included a state senator, sheriff’s officers, medical professionals and small business owners.
