Anyone five or older will have to show proof of at
least one COVID-19 vaccine dose to enter certain businesses in Newark
beginning Jan. 10.
The announcement comes as the city takes new steps to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Businesses include restaurants, bars, movie
theaters, concert and sports venues, among other facilities.
Mayor Ras Baraka signed the
executive order Monday, citing the recent rise in virus cases.
The order will also be in
effect for anyone attending New Year's Eve parties later this week.
