Two young men lost their lives to gun violence Sunday afternoon, bringing the tally to at least five victims this week in Newark.Since 2007 began one week ago, there have been seven shootings in Newark, equaling about one shooting a day. Sunday, Newark police investigated a shoot-out and double homicide inside a building hallway and courtyard of 194 Orange St. They say the shooting took place in broad daylight, at about 12:30 p.m. Police believe the incident may be drug related and believe a car with armed suspects sped from the scene.Officials say if shootings continue at this rate in Newark, they will likely surpass last year?s rate of 104 for the year.
