Newark police brought the law enforcement hammer down Thursday on a building notorious for drugs and violence.
The building on the corner of Spruce Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard may look abandoned to some, but sources say the inside is filled gang members and drugs. Newark police stormed the building and arrested at least five people during their raid. Authorities say cops also confiscated large amounts of drugs and weapons from the building.
Some residents say they were shocked about the bust. Others say they weren?t surprised about the arrests or the drugs. Residents in the area say they are in favor of a crackdown on local crime.
