The city of Newark is pushing back against claims of contaminated water for residents serviced by the Wanaque Water System.
The city says an independent water sample test, taken from a home on Raymond Boulevard, found undetectable levels of lead in the water.
This comes days after a judge ruled in favor of the city, saying it does not have to provide free bottled water to residents serviced by the Wanaque System.
The city maintains the problem is with the Pequannock Water System. Those residents will continue to receive free bottled water until the lead service lines can be replaced. That process is already underway.
