Newark Mayor Ras Baraka responded to claims that his team failed to report more than $700,000 in campaign funds in the last election.

Baraka, who announced his run for governor in February, posted Tuesday on X (formerly known as Twitter) that missing ELEC reports have been filed.

Baraka’s response comes weeks after the election law enforcement commission filed a complaint that the mayor’s team failed to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and campaign spending.

“Transparency is vital for democracy and our compliance in the future will not be in question,” Baraka wrote on X.
