A 28-year-old man from Newark was fatally shot in Linden on Saturday afternoon.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office says police were called to the 3000 block of Irene Street just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting. Officials say officers found Darrell Sanders at that location and he had been shot. Sanders was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
