Planning to travel soon? The Transportation Security Administration is upgrading security at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Travelers are advised to allow extra time to travel. Due to the new upgrades in the screen technology, lanes will have to be closed. TSA says the upgrades are necessary to provide the best security for passengers.
The agency says they are expecting longer than usual wait times.

Terminal A security lane closures

Terminal A security lane updates are currently happening and should be replaced by Friday.
Security screening wait times may be longer than normal. Arrive at least two hours before your scheduled departure time.

Terminal B security lane closures

Scheduled to happen Monday, May 13 through Friday, June 21.
No more than one lane per gate area will be taken out of service each week.
