Newark, Jersey City rank low on WalletHub’s list of safest US cities

Jersey City came in at No. 110 and Newark came in at No. 113 out of 182 cities on the list.

Two New Jersey cities have ranked in the middle of WalletHub’s list of safest cities in the United States.
Jersey City came in at No. 110 and Newark came in at No. 113 out of 182 cities on the list.
WalletHub looked at 41 key indicators of safety. “Our data set ranges from traffic fatalities per capita and assaults per capita to the unemployment rate and the percentage of the population that is uninsured,” the company wrote on its website.
Nashua, New Hampshire, Columbia, Maryland and South Burlington, Vermont ranked as the top three safest cities.
San Bernardino, California, Ford Lauderdale, Florida and St. Louis, Missouri were in the bottom three.
