A malfunction with the Newark Drawbridge will impact Friday morning's rail commute, according to NJ Transit.
The bridge connects Newark and Harrison. It became stuck in the upright position Thursday afternoon, suspending service between Newark Broad Street and Hoboken stations in both directions.
NJ Transit said service on the Morris & Essex Lines, Gladstone Branch and Montclair-Boonton Line will operate on a weekday schedule Friday.
However, the agency said that due to the bridge issues, "service will not operate between Dover and Hackettstown on the Morris & Essex Lines, or between MSU Station and Hackettstown on the Montclair-Boonton Line."
Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and check for updates before heading out.
