Air travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport experienced holiday-style delays Friday, without the holiday.
Windy and rainy weather in the Garden State and around the country delayed many incoming and outgoing flights. The Port Authority says some arriving flights were delayed by as much as three hours. Departure times were off by up to an hour. Some flights were canceled altogether.
The weather system brought only rain and wind to New Jersey, but it dumped several inches of snow across the Midwest. The Port Authority is strongly encouraging all travelers to contact their airlines before heading to the airport.
