Love may be priceless, but weddings are anything but — especially in New Jersey.

Couples in the state spend an average of $55,000 on their weddings, making it the most expensive state to get married, according to The Knot.

Across the United states, about two million weddings happen every year, and the average price tag is $30,000 — up 18% over the past five years. That doesn’t include the honeymoon.

From food and flowers to the dress, tariffs are driving costs even higher. “A third of couples were worried about tariffs when it comes to their budget and their plans,” said Raina Moskowitz, CEO of The Knot Worldwide.

Local vendors are feeling the pinch too. “I spent a lot of money on chocolate, which I buy from Belgium. I buy Calibo chocolate. I noticed it went from $44 for 5.5 pounds to $78,” said Armana Christianson, owner and cake artist at A. Cakes Bakery.
