New Jersey Senate Republicans demand Gov. Murphy relinquish emergency powers

New Jersey state Senate Republicans have launched a new campaign to demand that Gov. Phil Murphy relinquish his emergency pandemic powers.
Lawmakers are calling the campaign “Give It Back.” They say that the governor has taken away parental rights, economic freedom for businesses and vaccine choice.
Republican state Sen. Mike Testa says that lawmakers have been kept out of the business of government for the last two years.
"That should be unacceptable to every New Jerseyan, whether they have an R next to their name, a D next to their name, or they are an unaffiliated voter,” Testa told News 12 New Jersey. “That should shock everyone and really be a call to action for everyone to demand that Gov. Murphy give it back."
Murphy will need to make a decision by the end of next week on whether he extends the public health emergency in the state for another 30 days.
